Birch is sired by Leprince des Bois who is renowned for his exceptional eventing career and strong pedigree. He competed in eight 5 events*, finishing 8th at Burghley, 11th at Badminton, and 4th at Pau. His sire, Yarlands Summer Song, was ranked in the WBFSH top 10 eventing sires for a decade.

Birch's dam has exceptional breeding and an eventing background, her sire Cougar sired many excellent eventers and showjumpers, her dam line's sire Easy Lift also produced many top level horses.
